Circulation Policies

Registration | Circulation | Renewals | Recall | Overdue | Returning Materials
Registration
Everyone who uses WRCA materials must be registered at this library. The only requirement for registration is a valid, current photo identification. WRCA reserves the right to restrict or refuse circulation privileges.

Circulation

Patron Standard Circulation Period
Graduate students, faculty, staff, members (donors) Semester
Undergraduates 2 weeks

Periodicals 1 week (No ILL, No renewals)
Videos 1 week (2-week ILL, No renewals)

*Locked Cage materials include: items published prior to 1970 and other items as selected. Locked Cage, Reference publications (call numbers beginning with R), legal materials (call numbers beginning with L), and archival materials do not circulate.


Renewals
All patrons may renew Standard Circulation items up to 5 times. To renew, please contact WRCA and provide the call number of each item. Please submit renewals electronically or by telephone (510-642-2666), fax (510-642-9143), or in person.

Recall
Patrons may request a recall of any item that is checked out.

Overdue Materials
Patrons with overdue library materials will have their library privileges blocked and/or be billed for replacement of missing items.

Returning Materials
After-hours book drop Patrons are encouraged to return materials directly to the WRCA circulation desk during regular business hours. WRCA also has an after-hours drop box located on the east side of the breezeway connecting O'Brien & McLaughlin Halls. Materials may be returned via a mail service, however, it is preferable that items be returned in person. WRCA materials may not be returned to other campus libraries. Materials are considered checked out until they are received by WRCA.
